I know that there is a lot of methods to do such things, but this one is mine, so follow carefully if you wish.
Grab a good tone : Frank Sinatra : Fly me to the moon.mp3
Let’s go!

I Noticed that the work should be very easy if the two pictures are extracted from their original background and saved as PNG…..
But placing wings behind woman and saying that is finished in two steps, is far from being a good tone….you should take fun when working with em…...Right!! ;-)
So, if have nothing todo next minutes, try this tutorial with us.

Good, place the wings over the woman, center it as good as possible, is should be as realistic as possible…
Now, drop down the opacity of the wings layer to about 60%, then start erasing the wings with a soft erase tool brush, the places to erase are obvious…..from the chest to the arms and hands, becarefull of erasing out of these parts!!! just the countour, so the wings starts to looks like they are behind her
Tip: If the Flow of the erase tool is too strong and you deleted more then the contour of her body, just go back and reduce the Flow, up on the tool settings click here to see what i mean!!

It’s recommanded here to spend a long moment to carefully erasing the contour, zoom in as needed, if you work hard on this, the result will be very fun and realist!!!! it took me about 1h47 min to make it as i want it, but the result is as you see here…
the Trick that i was looking for is to place the wings between the shair and the girl, it will make it looks more realistic that wings are really attached to the girl!!

Some make up now, firstly go verifying the countour of the winf itself, and try deleting all blank parts that resulted from copying the wings from their original background, this could be done by many ways : using the eraser tool with small brushes, Polygonal lasso tool, The clone stamp tool, or the Smudge tool…..this will make wings fade more in the background!! and make it realistic.
In our file, the best trick is to place a black background under all layers….this will reveal all jagged parts in the wings or the girl pics.

Now, the difficult part is passed, it’s time to touche-up these piece as it was originally planned!!
duplicate wings layer and go to : edit—> Transform—>Flip Vertical…then nudge this layer down till it intersects with the original wings layer…..
and make a round selection over this layer, then go to : Select—> Feather by 30 or 40% then hit delete as many times as needed to make the wings cutted with a fade effect!! this will be the reflect of wings on the shair!!!

Now, to make it more realistic, go around the girl in the wing layer with dodge tool, this will blend it more and more…in the girl chest!

Try anything other then butterfly wings…..or a woman, diffrent shapes, colors, effects, color balance, adjustement layers…etc.
......let me see what come up with you guys!!!
