On This Exclusif tutorial for skinyourscreen, a simple method to recreate a very basic Personal Logo, wich i discovred when i was playing with Layers Stayles!! :)
I know that there is a lot of ways to such effects, but this one is mine, and want to share it wizz you ;)
Grab a good tone : Clay Davidson: I Can’t Lie To Me.mp3
here we go!

So, make a new document about 300px/300px, or any size you like, it’s just to have a best view.
Anyway, reset your colors, then fill the background with black, then make a new layer.

Good, take you circular marquee selection tool and make a cercle in the center of the canevas, fill it with some grey color, we’ll change it anyway later, then turn your colors into these colors : #525251 background and #A4A4A4.

Now, give this cercle these layer styles :
this gradient should be taken from the colors that you configured in step one.
Now, it should looks like on the shot!!! is it OK? then Move one bud :-)

Make a smaller circle inside the previous one, then give it a radial gradient from the top Left to the Bottom Right as shown here with thses colors #515151 and #E0DFDF then give it an Outer Glow

Make a third circle inside the previous one, and fill it with this color #52534E, then give it these layer stayles :
Now, hopefully that your thing should be similar to this one :)

Well after modeling the base shape like this one, your imagination come into scene and will do anything…..it’s up to you to add anything you want ….here i just added a Falcon image and…..

Gived it these layer styles

Add all things you need, just be imaginatif, here i just added some stars!! it was one then i duplicated it!!

Play with it, diffrent settings, diffrent tricks, add vectors, masks, adjustement layers…...try diffrent buildings, diffrent shots…....you should do it, it’s not as difficult as it sounds :D

Whitley Strieber, self-proclaimed alien abductee, here writes interdimensional fiction of planetary invasion amongst parallel worlds. A writer possessed by his words finds his writing actuating an alternate earth in which a planetary invasion is taking place only to realize his earth is also in jeopardy. Curious concepts which leave too many incongruities and unanswered questions to be recommended.
Award-winning juvenile fiction which discusses the weighty matters of choice, infanticide, and geriatricide in a way that ultimately leaves the reader to decide in an unbiased fashion. In a utopian culture of the future that maintains a base-line standard of life through self-suppresion and communistic assignment of duties and euthenasia of non-contributing members, young Jonas receives the very rare and enigmatic duty of Receiver. With this new role come rules of a very different nature than the rest of the culture. Ultimately this permits bypass of the emotional blindness and the revelation of the true nature and history of the culture.
Where James Rollins makes you grit your teeth as your favorite characters are seemingly killed only to pop up safe at the end, Iain Banks pushes your favorite characters through gut-wrenching punishment and still has the sadism to kill ‘em all at the end anyway. Don’t worry, it’s the ride that counts (or at least that’s what I keep telling myself).
Few books touch me so indelibly. Rarer still are true stories that leave a mark or impression on my soul. Tuesday’s with Morrie has done that with rapacious wit, candora, melancholy, but most importantly, truth. Life is to be lived, and fully, not sequestered away seeking money, fame. Life is who you love. This is a book to own. I hope my kids will pick it up off the shelf when they’re old enough and give it a read.

You tutorials are so hard to follow, you skip steps. How am I supposed to achieve the inner circle in your personal logo tut? Please stop frustrating people.
mrbiotech said on Aug 6, 12:35 AM
I’m gonna reply for Nerio since he’s still recovering from his accident.
Spleek – You can make inner circles the same way he showed you how to make the first one. Like most tutorials, Nerio’s assumes that you learn as you go. If you’re doing the tutorial word-by-word just to get to the end effect, then you’re just cheating yourself ;)
An easy way to create scaled circles inside other circles is to CTRL+CLICK the layer in the layer palette containing the circle you want to put another circle inside. The Ctrl+Click creates a selection based on that layer’s contents. Then navigate through your menu bar to “Select” >> “Modify” >> “Contract” and then select the number of pixels you want the selection reduced. Beware, however, that large contractions or expansions may result in strange selections (they may start looking diamond-shaped instead of circular).
Rather than directly using an expanded or contracted selection to create a fill on a new layer, I’ll usually just read its dimensions from the info-box, create a new layer and use a circular marquee selection to manually create the shape. Then it can be jiggled into place.

I am sorry to hear of Nerio’s accident. And just to be clear I am not without feelings.
However, you said—“Nerio’s assumes that you learn as you go”
There’s nothing to learn if the step is excluded from the tutorial. This is not the only one like this. The layer masks tutorial is just as confusing.
I have written many PSP tutorials and did infact learn to use that program by following tutorials.
The first cardinal step of writing a tutorial is to assume that the reader knows nothing about the program being used. Or at least state the fact that the reader should have a working knowledge of the program, if not then perhaps suggest another simpler tutorial for them to start with.
That still doesn’t change the fact that the step is just simply NOT THERE.
You also stated—“If you’re doing the tutorial word-by-word just to get to the end effect, then you’re just cheating yourself ;)”
Just exactly how else are you supposed to follow a tutorial if not word for word?
I have infact shown these tutorials to more than one friend who do have an advanced knowledge of Photoshop and even they found them confusing and impossible to follow.
I thank you for you attempt in helping me to understand this one but I believe I will continue to visit the tutorial sites reccomended by friends.
Perhaps when Nerio is feeling better he could take into consideration adjusting these to be more user friendly.
Thank you for your time.

Spleek – With jabs like “Please stop frustrating people” and ”...but I believe I will continue to visit the tutorial sites reccomended (sic) by friends” it seems you’re more interested in “patronizing” our site rather than supplying patronage, so I’ll make this brief to save your time and mine.
Our tutorials are primarily intended for the skinning crowd and are mostly user-submitted. If you’re willing to dismiss a whole site of great tutorials because you had trouble with one user-submitted tutorial, well, it’s your own loss. If Nerio’s tutorials don’t speak well to you, there are tutorials here by other authors as well which you seem keen on quickly ruling out.
There are tons of Photoshop tutorials and sites around; by all means, look for what suits you. Just don’t start lobbing insults as soon as you can, sir. You’ve been reactionary and impolite for little reason.

hey were can i get a complete free icon maker
please send me an email with url thank you
mrbiotech said on Jul 12, 10:56 AM
Hi Jig Saw,
In truth, I’m not really familiar with any free icon makers. I’d highly recommend the iconfactory’s commercial IconBuilder at http://iconfactory.com/software/iconbuilder_xp/ because of it’s ease of use and flexibility. I’m not sure if perhaps Microsoft offers their own Icon-creator these days for the higher-res Vista icons. Stardock’s iconpackager will also import PNG images, if I’m not mistaken, and it’s probably about $20.
