I am biotech lover. I miss this desig style. How about your opinion, I see lot of site move out into simple design, like smooth gradient, minimize effect, like skin of wordpress.

I agree with you completely; there’s a general trend towards blocky, minimal designs. A site can be more easily digested that way, I suppose, but I’ve always been a fan of graphics that look like you could pick them up and put them in your pocket. :)
