True to form, I’ve been sketching away at home, despite the fact I haven’t gotten everything online yet. Here is a Photoshop workup of an AstonShell theme of simple design I wanted to make. I’ve got Windows XP Pro and W2K running via VMWare on my new MacBook Pro and the first thought that came to mind when either started up was “MAN! Windows really is FUGLY!!!!”
So the inspiration for this theme was, in essence, anti-inspiration. Necessity and graphic style mandated that hideous Luna interface) be done away with as soon as possible, and you can bet your wallet that AstonShell’s going up in stead of the cruddy Explorer interface.
The ball in this graphic was a prototype logo design that ended up looking way better miniaturized – ideal for a START button or some other GUI element. We’ll see if the theme actually gets finished… too many things in the pipeline. Sketching challenges are good for stuff like that ;)
