Incidentally, i now have lws.nfshost.com - which is hosted with the good people of nearlyfreespeech.net, the most clueful webhosts on the intertubes. It will give PHP errors right now : it's hosting a CMS i'm still working on coding . I only have $0.02c of hosting credit, though, because I don't have credit cards or paypal or anything else i can use to pay them. (Donations, anyone? :p)

Fwiw, the CMS is called 'Earl' (think of Earl Grey tea), and it's a simple deal that uses flat files on the back end instead of databasen (XML files, actually.) In theory, you should be able to just find a webserver with PHP5, unzip it in a folder, and go. I love simple things. Of course, I have to finish the thing first...

Man!!  I forgot that thing existed!  DevArt has been mean: most of my download links there no longer work, and I'm too busy to update 'em.  Kinduv weird when looking at the stats of all of 'em, though.  Supposedly I've got close to 400,000 downloads on all my DevArt themes put together... that can't be right.

My goodness!  I don't know why it could've spiked so much... Recently on the front page ( http://www.skinyourscreen.com/site ) I put up Amazon ads for books I had recently read - maybe that had something to do with it?

Oh... I also tweaked the XHTML header information a little to give robots and spiders a bit more access.  It's kinduv a gamble, 'cuz you also attract net-denizens, but it apparently paid off in hits.  Here's what I added:

The meta stuff is for searches right? It has something to do with letting the search engine find info about the site, correct?

Yuppers.  It's geared for web-crawlers, bots, and spiders (like GoogleBot) that trawl the net cataloguing data.  The tags are spec'd in the XML DTD file and permit you to add your own "stuff," in this case information about the template author, keywords and the like.

Looking at the original HTML for the site, though, I realize that this information was already in there in April when the first appraisal was done.  I'm sure if it contributed to the domain hike or not.

Maybe 'cos we all rolled along to leapfish from this site it jacked up that sites evaluation of SYS??? Dunno
