Well, am about finishing my theme, and now doing Altdesk skin to fit with SG-1 them...

Now whats happening is that when am compiling the altdesk skin, it never loads correctly, as i done absolutly all graphics needed and correct code....but if i leave it in a folder it loads correctly, but never the same thing whene turning it into ASZ thing!

whats the error is? or i missed something since my crash?!!!

You have to code to skin alt desk? I missed that and I haven't had a bad accident. Of course I have never used altdesk before because I didn't have enough money to buy it with AstonShell.

I know what I'm getting Haxer for his birthday, teehee!  That is, if you don't skin it and get a free license first.  At your rate, you'll be writing tutorials to help me do stuff in a little while! 

I thought about doing some tuts in flash and puting them on dA, but I don't know how to record what I'm doing in PhotoShop. You have done that before right?

I could, but most of the stuff I would do is already elements of tuts that are on this site. I could also post them here though. Of course first I have to figure out how to record what I'm doing in PS into flash. I have Flash MX 2004 and Flash 8, so if anyone knows how to do it in either of those I would be greatful if you let me know. I guess I could google it.. lol

PS, we kinda lost sight of the original issue that this thread was started for. Anyone have tips for Nerio???

I just found out from good old krstatzar that he sent a suggestion to Gladiator's software for an AltDesk key for me! I love the communities around Aston, and also skinning in general. So many people are really cool.

That's why we call it the republic!! let see what came up with your Altdesk skins if you have the key!!

I think I used a program called "Wink" - it was pretty dang slick!  I think you can find it here.

There are a couple of alternatives out there, Wink was just the first one I used, but it seems to do the trick quite well.

It was bound to happen sooner or later.  Gladiator's is an awesome little company, considering how much they advocate skinning and provide resources to do it.  The fact that they even give away licenses is exceptionally generous - and smart marketing.  They definitely seek a satisfied customer, and besides making rock solid software, the next way to do that is to attract talented skinners like yourself. :

Thanks for the vcompliment. Yes, Gladiator's has (in my opinnion) got to be one of the coolest companies that I know of. I owe a lot to them, infact, if it wasn't for Aston Shell, I probably wouldn't be hanging out here. I wouldn't have ever really learned how to do the cool stuff I know how to do now. And most of all, I wouldn't have ever met the coolest guys on the net, and I would have missed out on SYS. So in my way of paying the mighty guys (and ladies) of Gladiator's software back, I will get to skinning.

Also, thanks Rich for the link to the flash thing. I found a non freeware program on google, but I like the idea of not having to find a new program everytime the trial on one I am using runs out. (I'm cheap, but I am in college. You guys understand right )

One last thing, Nerio, did you get the AltDesk thing figured out? If so could you share with me? I am new to having to actually type stuff to skin, so all the AltDesk tidbits of info that anyone could share with me would be greatly appreciated

To be honnest Haxer, i even havent tried.....the small trying period i done for figuring out how it should work gave me headashes...so i stoped....and the hole work is stopped right now, i dunno how GS made that stuff working like that!!!
