SYS's Own 'What Are You Listening To' Thread
SYS's Own 'What Are You Listening To' Thread
« on: February 04, 2007, 09:56:06 PM »

I have come to the rather shocking realisation that the SYS forums do not yet have one of those giant 'what are you listening to' threads. This is, of course, a deviation from internet norms which must be rectified mmediately.

To make it interesting, let's not just splash down 'I am listening to $song' - include a snippet of the lyrics as well (if applicable). I shall begin Smiley

The Cat Empire - Two Shoes : 'On my feet I wear two shoes for dancing dancing to be free, well my feet they're paying tribute to the Bobby Marley legacy-'

The Mossman Project - Dr. Seuss Tribute -
One fish, Two fish,
Red fish, Blue fish, (Blue fish)
Dr. Seuss is my hero,
He's my best friend, (best friend)
When I'm down in the dumps I,
Read the books by him. (by him)
Oh Dr. Seuss,
One fish two fish red fish blue fish,
And that little humpy guy,
And the fox that's wearing sox,
And the green eggs and ham
That caught my eye, (green eggs and ham)
I can read with my eyes closed,
But it makes my head hurt,
Thing one and thing two,
They pooed in my shoe,
And the cat in the hat came back
For dinner last night,
And he put a pink ring in the tub,
And now mom's gonna get so mad.
When she gets home,
She's gonna give me a spankin
But fortunately there's 'Z'
And he explodes,
And the pink stuff's gone,
And now I'm happy as can be.
Oh Dr. Seuss. (Dr. Seuss)
I love you so much, (love you so much)
You entertain me,
Just like, anyone, (anyone)
Mostly Bill Cosby,
But when I read that one book,
It freaked me out,
And I couldn't sleep.

The Living End - 'Roll On' : 'We'll roll on with our heads held high! Our conscience in the gutter, our dreams up in the sky-'

About the Australian dock-workers strike from a few years back Smiley The Living End is good like that, they do music with relevance to current affairs of the time in addition to just plain rocking Smiley Apparently they also rock live, but I couldn't get into the Uni Club when they were in Townsville because i was underage Sad

lol - I just looked that up on wikipedia Smiley

The Powerpuff Girls

They live in the fictional city of Townsville (not to be confused with Townsville in Queensland, Australia). The girls are drawn with physical traits that make them "super-cute". They have large eyes, and, although they are able to hear, smell, and hold, their bodies are drawn without noses, ears, fingers, or toes. The girls are very aware of that, and it is shown that they don't have fingers, and instead, their fingerless hands can pick things up at will. (In fact, in one episode where everyone swapped bodies, Buttercup, who had swapped bodies with the Professor, complained that his hand didn't work.)

'Townsville' sounds like the name of a city where the founders didn't know what to call it.... so they came up with a stupidly obvious name ("uh... let's call it 'townsville'... now we've come up with a name we can knock off and have a few beers" Smiley) Actually it's named after Robert Towns, and I have no idea why he merited a city named after him Smiley
