As much as I like to rip on Microsoft, the truth is they can't make a standards-compliant browser.  Pity, since they've got such a market share!  Whenever working on a website for a client I work the design through FireFox and Safari first, then add the pages of hacks required for Internet Explorer to render it.

Ya, ie should simply cease to exist. The thing is though that more and more people are starting to figure that out. So that's good at least. There are some sites that are unfortunately designed around IE and therefore don't work properly in FireFox, which is the only reason I ever start up IE.
