Although I GREATLY admire the player, as well as his miraculous teacher, Satriani, I've always questioned their use of Ibanez guitars. Although their Wizard and Wizard II necks feel great in the hand, the componentry and construction have always been issues to me. Granted, on a custom, one-of-a-kind guitar made as a sponsorship deal Ibanez would produce its best products. By-and-large, though, I've despised Ibanez's consumer-grade guitars since I first played a few in the early '90s. Generally decent pickups, an okay trem, bad tuners, and inferior woods. I've seen a number of Ibanez guitars that people have stripped the paint from to put on a custom color or paint job and the body woods literally had 1-inch gaps in the wood filled with
