Singularity v0.004 sound module
« on: February 01, 2007, 10:42:18 PM »

I'm working on the new Singularity theme for LiteStep and putting together the graphics for the audio control module.  You guys are great to tap for opinions, so here are two renditions of the controls, one simple, the other a little more graphical.

Here's the preview:

Note that all digital controls will have a luminescent mouse-over effect.  Is it too messy?  Rather than being the current "digital" look, would you guys recommend something more tactile?  Metallic?

I REALLY like it! I lean to the one on the right. I think that the way you did this, the more detail does not clutter it up but adds to it. I love it a lot Smiley

There's always somebody ripping my graphics somewhere.  Very annoying.  It's one of the major downsides of publishing themes: if they get popular, there's always some kid somewhere that thinks they can use your graphics without permission.  Most of the time it's an honest mistake.

Haven't followed up on that one yet.  I've attempted to contact the author.  No response.  My next recourse is to contact Aston and have the theme pulled from their archive.

Actually, you're comparatively internet-famous in the skinning arena, it seems - a couple of years back (year 11 or 12, so one or two years ago) APC, an australian computer mag, did a one-page article about skinning software (litestep, aston, windowsblinds, et al) and Singularity was shown as either the sample LS or the sample AS theme. How does global notoriety feel?  Afro

The theme was already removed from Aston's site.

Y'know, I regularly say the same about you guys.  One thing I can say about my skinning years is that it's brought some fantastic and talented people into my life.

I wish I could snag the "mrbiotech.com" domain, but someone got that a long time ago.

You're quite prolific yerself!  Googling mickeblue clearly shows your interest in skinning.  Not a bad way to be known Smiley
