I'm interested in adding additional categories, personalities, and/or entire podcasts to the SYS Podcast.  Contributions could be done multiple ways:

Contribute a regular 5-10 minute show segment regarding skinning news, software, recent skins, skin reviews or another skinning/customization-related topic.
Contribute a unique skinning podcast that will be displayed as an alternate Category of SYS Podcast.  This option means essentially creating your own podcast.

Nice idea buddy, there are a lot of artists that should talk about their skinning progress and experience, ive seen many nice skinners and designers around devart that really merit to have a segment of podcast to show what they can do......Really nice idea!!

This is a really cool idea Rich. I think it needs to be done with some care though, or else it could degenerate into the ~ "that dude who thinks he can skin - cast".

I could think of a few people who would be worth approaching to ask ( if they are approachable that is... I know that one or two of them think the sun starts its journey somewhere around their nether regions ). This is a serious oportunity to put together some valuble history, and design & technique ideas for future skinners. One that I think you should persue.

The Skinyourscreen Podcast Skinner Spotlight

Lemme start a spin-off idea by asking you (any interested skinner of whatever experience level) the following questions.  If you record it in a 5-10 minute audio file (WAV, MP3, AAC, OGG) I'll put it in SYSPodcast13.  Nothing explicit, please.

The questions:

Who are you (what's your nick) and what do you skin?
What skinnable software do you use?
What skinnable software do you design for?
What makes a good skin, in your opinion?
What got you interested in skins in the first place?
What moved you to start making your own skins?
What's your creative skin-production process like?
What tools do you use in skinning?
Who are a few skinners you admire, why?
If you're not actively skinning anymore, what are your reasons?
Do you think skinning in general is passing as a fad, slowing, accelerating, or bigger now than it's ever been?
Any other comments on the world of skinning?

At the end of your recording I'd also request you say something like "Skinyourscreen podcast Rulz!" or "GoatDemon, I love you!" or "All praise Trinoids2.0" (y'know, be creative - our own little promotions, y'see?).

Need help recording?
I'd recommend using Audacity, 'cuz it's free and relatively easy to use, if you have a mic.  Of course, you could use Windows' own WAV recorder for short files, or GarageBand on a Mac.  If anyone needs help setting up recording software just write me - we'll get you up and running.

Are you still doing the SYS podcast?

I've got all my show-notes together for SYSPodcast13, just haven't recorded it.  It's mix-down that takes the longest time, cutting and editing to make sure Trinoids2.0 and TheGoatDemon get equal say in the matter.

lol, I just started giong through and listening to all of 'em, and I have to give you props for the witty way you give us all the information. I like being entertained as I'm learning about the new software. Keep em coming.
