The only thing that could make this better is if each part was numbered. Wink

Incidentally, this springs to mind : http://www.stardestroyer.net/Mike/RantMode/GiftSuggestions.html

Suggestion #6: A giant Lego kit.

We men try to put on a good show of this meaningless concept
called "maturity" (a nice term for the adult social convention
of being polite even when you feel like punching the other guy in the
mouth). However, the fact remains that we're still just little boys
in grown-up bodies. And no matter how old we get, Lego is still
cool. Especially those huge kits, like the big Lego Man O' War kit,
or the battleship, or the tank, or the licensed Star Wars Imperial
Star Destroyer kit. These kits can set you back more money than
you'd expect, but there's something compelling about the exercise
of sitting down with 50 pounds of Lego and an instruction sheet in
order to construct something big. Preferably something with guns on
it.

Interestingly enough, complex Lego kits are basically the only
kind of product which you can buy where a man will unhesitatingly
read the instructions before he starts.

You know this to be true. Wink

That would be too easy. You'll probably find there is one too many 3/4 inch 6 gauge cross head screw in the box... just to freak you out when you get the job completed and find yourself asking where the hell it should have gone.  Grin

Willingly interjecting a tangent here, but I've recently been hooked by several Lego blogs. Incredible stuff people are making these days!

Re: left-over screws
Took apart the door on the wife's BroncoII once to repair a window and put it all back together to find 3-4 big fat bolts left over. Had to take it all back apart and put it back together just to make sure they weren't important. Cheesy

It never ceases to amaze me what people create from Lego... having said that, it is a bit more advanced now that when I was a sprogg, kinda basic back then.

Back in the 60's I used to have a construction kit called 'Betabuild'( smaller, single cell blocks ). I think it was an attempt to knock Lego off the top spot. Google that name now and you get loads of options for 'beta' builds!  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I know Chris... people think I bonkers when I tell them about the fun I had with Betabuild. I must have had one of the only boxes of the stuff bought by a generous sister.

Never mind... every thing gets sorted out in the wash... a torch and a half... Or a brand of dog food that I would buy!
